With Jacob Haugaard stepping down from the Grøn stage after 38 years as the iconic host of Grøn Koncert, Muskelsvindfonden, one of the organizations behind the festival, wanted to gift him something truly unforgettable – to celebrate his impact and mark the end of an era. That is why they reached out to Ibsens Fabrikker to bring the vision to life.

To recreate his recognizable look, our process began using photo references of Jacob Haugaard, which were translated into a detailed digital 3D visualization. This ensured an accurate physical representation while keeping the structure optimized for large-scale 3D printing. This allowed the client to preview the statue and gave us the opportunity to refine details before production officially began.

As a result, it became a 2.6-meter 3D-printed statue that travelled across eight cities in Denmark with the Grøn Koncert, covering a journey from the capital area all the way to the north.

It served as an eye-catcher on the festival grounds and a gathering point while doubling as an interactive centerpiece where the audience could write personal messages.

By the end of the tour, the statue had gathered messages from people all over the country, turning into a truly unique work of art created entirely by the audience.

Ultimately, the completed statue was ready to be gifted to Jacob Haugaard, finding a permanent home in his garden as a durable outdoor tribute.
