Under the essence of the sun: An installation of light and warmth

A dream of capturing the sun
Philip Sacht approached us with a desire to bring the light and warmth of the sun into an art installation. His vision was to create a space where visitors could experience the presence of the sun. Inspired by this dream, we began developing two inflatable elements that could unite the warmth of nature with human-made technology.

The large balloon and the tablecloth
The main attraction of the installation is a 4-meter-tall inflatable balloon made of PU-coated polyester. The balloon is equipped with a built-in blower that ensures it maintains its shape and stability throughout the exhibition. To add an extra dimension to the installation, the balloon was designed with internal hooks and a light lock that allows for the attachment of professional lighting.

The tablecloth, measuring an impressive 15 meters in diameter and covering an area of 225 square meters, is made of durable Nylon Ripstop. Its transparent quality creates a unique atmosphere, where the light is refracted and distributed in a way that resembles the rays of the sun.

A glowing welcome
In addition to the main installation, a smaller 2.5-meter balloon was created to serve as a glowing reception at the entrance. The balloon, emitting an intense white glow, became a central element in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors from the very first moment. The cohesive design and sharp lighting made the balloon much more than just a visual element; it also served as a gathering point where guests could be impressed and immerse themselves in the theme of the installation.

This smaller balloon became not only an aesthetic addition but also a practical part of the experience. It was used as a striking backdrop for professional photos, with its glow highlighting the details of the subjects and giving the images an almost magical quality. The balloon thus added an extra dimension to the event, where function and art went hand in hand to create a memorable experience.

From drawing to reality
As always, the process began with detailed drawings and 3D models, providing us with a solid foundation for realizing the project. These visualizations were the cornerstone for developing the inflatable elements, allowing us to fine-tune the design. The close collaboration between us and Philip Sacht ensured that his creative vision was brought to life, where both aesthetics and function were seamlessly integrated. With great attention to detail and perfection, we created a solution that delivered at the highest technical and artistic levels.

A tribute to light
With this project, we united nature’s warmth and human-made light to create an installation that celebrates the sun’s role. Inspired by the sun’s ability to gather and inspire people, the result was a sensory experience that invited visitors to step into a world of light and warmth.
